Scenic Views of Queer West Village Toronto « Read Less
Toronto's - Queer West Village is more of an attitude than an identity; new and radical, and has a thriving underground queer scene. The fact that Toronto's west end is less aggressively, overtly gay is a drawing point for many queers. The bars and clubs are to a degree randomly spread along, Bloor St., College St., Queen Street West and Spadina none with a 'gay' bar label. Toronto's queer west end, is not so much a part of the city, as a collection of small villages. This first gallery of many, is a sightseeing tour around the village area.
High Park Lofts on Roncesvalles Avenue
View of High Park Lofts construction, overlooking the intersection of Howard Park Avenue and Roncesvalles Ave. High Park Lofts will consist of two glass-sided, seven-storey slabs standing parallel to each other, left. They will be separated by a 130-foot, glass-roofed atrium that will contain a climate-controlled, landscaped garden. The well established, community is a short stroll to the Dundas West subway station, which also has a GO train connection.
Roncesvalles Village is located in the south-west part of Toronto. It can be defined as an area between Roncesvalles, Macdonell, Queen and Dundas. Once part of one of Toronto's wealthiest districts, it has mature, treed streets, good quality housing stock with numerous Victorian and Edwardian homes, good schools, vibrant shopping district, easy access to public transportation and the highway, and is only a short walk from High Park.
This wonderful area is very popular with buyers, especially gay and lesbian young professionals, who are looking for an interesting, people-friendly neighbourhood with an easy access to downtown. What was once mainly ethnic shopping district on Roncesvalles, recently became gentrified, and offers a whole array of boutiques, cafés, restaurants, bakeries and gift shops. Many area homes underwent classy renovations within the last few years.
